Anti-frost protection

Airobot units use PTC heaters optimised for airflow that create minimal air resistance. However, warming up to a high temperature in seconds allows them to be controlled on demand. This way, balanced ventilation is ensured throughout the year
At minus degrees, the device calculates the freezing point based on the indoor humidity and air temperature. The air taken from outside is preheated, which prevents the heat exchanger from freezing. In addition, it ensures a suitable supply air temperature regardless of the outdoor temperature, and no separate reheating is required (due to the high efficiency of the plate heat exchangers).

NEW MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY

Airobot L is made of EPP material, which is air-tight and corrosion-resistant. This in turn ensures a long life of the device. EPP material is also used, for example, in bicycle helmets.

AUTO-BALANCING

Unlike other ventilation units, Airobot units have automatic efficiency-based balancing. The air resistance of the device is constantly changing (for example, dirty filters, water, etc.) and the speed of operation of the motors in relation to each other needs to be constantly changed. This always ensures a comfortable supply air temperature and at the same time ensures even greater savings in heating costs.

AUTONOMOUS CONTROL

All Airobot devices include different types of sensors for measuring temperature, humidity and CO2 as standard, which makes the Airobot very unique. All sensors are already integrated in the device and do not need to be installed in separate rooms.

Room presence detection

The Airobot can detect when there is no one in the room by combining several sensors and can switch itself to the lowest speed. For example, if you do not stay in the premises for an average of eight hours a day, then compared to a conventional ventilation unit, Airobot saves up to 30% in energy and heating costs.

Moisture and heat recovery

Airobot units are equipped with counterflow plate heat exchangers. Their advantages are:

  • High heat recovery efficiency (up to 96%), so there is no need for separate reheating.
  • Reliability. The plate heat exchanger has no moving parts, does not consume electricity and does not consume. For maintenance, they only need to be rinsed with clean water once every few years.
  • Plate heat exchangers do not mix the extracted and supplied air, which means that unpleasant odours do not return to the interior.

As standard, Airobot units are equipped with a heat exchanger, which converts the system into heat recovery ventilation (HRV).

As an option, it is possible to get a heat recovery (Entalpia) heat exchanger instead of a conventional heat exchanger, which converts the system into energy recovery ventilation (ERV). The moisture recovery heat exchanger returns both heat (efficiency up to 90%) and humidity (efficiency up to 80%).

The moisture recovery heat exchanger is similar to a conventional heat exchanger, but the plates are made using a special innovative polymer membrane technology. This allows the humidity to be transferred back to the supplied air from the extracted air. The material is anti-plastic, which prevents microbes from forming on the plate.

  • During the winter, it helps to reduce and slightly increase the humidity in the interior – the moisture is returned from the extracted air. In the case of a conventional heat exchanger, all the moisture generated is removed immediately, but in the case of moisture recovery, it is partially returned to the premises. For example, if a bathroom is used, the moisture generated there is spread over the entire living space, which in turn significantly increases the quality of the indoor climate. They are especially suitable for the cold Estonian climate, where the indoor humidity drops uncomfortably low during the heating period.
  • The heat recovery heat exchanger is significantly more frost-resistant, which means that the energy consumption of frost protection is lower in winter periods..
  • During the summer, excess outside moisture is not transferred into rooms, reducing cooling costs.
  • Under normal conditions there is no condensate water so drain installation is not required.

Summer cooling

Airobot devices have a summer bypass valve that works automatically. If the house has overheated on a summer day, the machine will understand when the outside temperature has dropped below the indoor temperature, open the valve and start cooling the house.

Energy saving mode

When not in the premises, the appliance switches to energy saving mode and ventilates at the minimum possible speed. Normal mode resumes automatically when a person enters the premises.

Moisture detection

When using the bath or shower, the Airobot reacts immediately to the rapid change in humidity and automatically switches to a higher speed, ventilating the room until it is dry.

Frost protection

In cold climates, the unit’s heat exchanger may freeze. A standard integrated and demand-driven heater ensures that this does not happen with the heat exchanger.
