Airobot Dual Zone Ventilation

Dual Zone Damper

Airobot’s Dual Zone Ventilation offers targeted climate control by dividing your home into two independently regulated zones. This ensures optimal air quality and comfort where needed—while saving energy in unoccupied areas.

  • Personalized Comfort

Independently adjusts airflow and air quality in two separate zones

  • Energy Efficiency

Reduces main unit workload when one zone is inactive, saving energy and extending system lifespan

  • Full Feature Coverage

Both zones benefit from Airobot’s CO₂, VOC, PM and humidity monitoring—no compromise on air quality

  • Energy Efficient

Works with Airobot ventilation units, thermostats, and mobile app for intuitive control

How does it work?

Airobot Dual Zone Ventilation divides your home into living and sleeping areas, ventilating only the zone where people are present. CO₂-sensing thermostats detect occupancy in real-time, and the system adjusts automatically—ensuring fresh air where it’s needed, and energy savings where it’s not.

  • Sleeping Mode

At night, the system shuts the valves to living areas and focuses airflow on bedrooms—where people are actually sleeping.

  • Daytime Mode

During the day, if people are detected in the living areas, ventilation shifts accordingly—without needing manual input.

  • Full-Zone Mode

When both areas are in use, Airobot keeps both zones active for balanced comfort throughout the entire home.

Control & Benefits

  • CO₂-Based Automation:

Detects where people are and directs airflow precisely.

  • Energy Savings:

Less heat loss through ventilation, especially from empty rooms.

  • Improved Efficiency:

A slower fan speed means higher heat and humidity recovery.

  • Quieter Operation:

Reduced noise levels during low-demand periods, especially at night.

Requirements

  • Two dampers must be installed in the supply air ducts. They are available in 160 mm and 200 mm diameter sizes. The selected damper size must match the diameter of the supply air duct.

  • The Airobot ventilation unit must have fans with constant airflow control. It always ensures balanced ventilation.
  • Zonally controlled spaces must not be completely closed. Air must be able to circulate freely, for example through door thresholds or through special vents in the doors. Otherwise, overpressure or underpressure may occur in the room
  • At least one room-based CO2 sensor (e.g. thermostat or room sensor) must be assigned for each zone (damper).
  • The ventilation unit and thermostats must be connected to the Internet. When the Internet connection is lost, all dampers automatically go to the open position.
  • Dampers are connected to expansion module (VC-EXT). Up to ten CO2 sensors can be assigned to one damper.
  • The Airobot ventilation unit monitors the level of CO2 in the rooms in real time. If a presence is detected in any room (CO2 level > 550 PPM), the damper belonging to that room is opened. If the CO2 level falls below this limit, the damper is closed and no air is blown into this zone.
