Ventilation preheating and -cooling

Ground-based preheating and -cooling of ventilation air. Uniquely, Airobot enables two different solutions with a single calorifier. The Airobot unit switches the circulation pump to control circulation in the calorifier. The system is connected directly to the ground circuit, with brine circulating in the calorifier. A ground circuit is necessary.

WINTER PREHEATING
Enables the preheating of outdoor air, reducing the amount of energy required for frost protection.

SUMMER COOLING
Hot outdoor air is cooled and the ventilation unit directs the cooled air directly indoors, bypassing the heat exchanger via a bypass valve. Furthermore, the system enables the storing of summer heat in the ground (in preparation for the next heating season), which improves the winter efficiency of the ground source heat pump.

Automatics

In summer, the indoor temperature may be pre-set. Cooling is deactivated at the pre-set temperature.

The Airobot ventilation unit monitors air supply temperature and ensures that it does not drop too low. The minimum air supply temperature is calculated in real-time using the dew point formula, in order to avoid condensation in the ducts.

For controlling the device external control module (VC-EXT) is required for Airobot ventilation unit.

Other

The calorifier is installed between the outdoor air duct and the unit. The circulation pump is not included; consult a heating specialist to determine a suitable pump.

The ventilation system has low air volumes per room and this system does not meet the standards set for cooling systems. This solution provides some cooling but is not comparable to an AC or similar cooling system.

The ground may warm up in summer, resulting in higher brine temperatures and eventually no capacity for storing extracted heat.

The system enables the storing of summer heat in the ground (in preparation for the next heating season), which improves the winter efficiency of the ground source heat pump.

Technical

The calorifier is available in three sizes: 160 mm, 200 mm and 250mm diameter fittings.

A filter cartridge must be installed upstream of the calorifier to minimize debris accumulation. Depending on the size: FD 160m, FC 200 mm or FD 250 mm.
