The Airobot Duct Heater & Cooler is a water or glycol based heating and cooling device that works seamlessly with your ventilation system – enhancing comfort in both summer and winter. It uses intelligent software and your home’s heating source to heat or cool incoming air automatically and efficiently.

How does it work?

The Airobot Duct Heater and Cooler functions like a radiator for your ventilation system, using a circulating water-based system to heat or cool the fresh air before it enters your living space.

  • Winter Mode

    Uses your heating system (or ground heat) to raise air temperature

  • Summer Mode

    It cools air using chilled water

  • Control

    For maximum efficiency, Airobot’s smart software controls the circulation pump, ensuring the best performance automatically, without manual adjustments. Dew point is constantly calculated to prevent condensation in ducts

Installation options

Outside air duct

  • Best choice if your system includes a ground-source heat pump, choose outside air duct installation to take full advantage of free heating and cooling from the earth.
  • Requirements: Must be connected to a ground-source heat pump loop (with non-freezing liquid like glycol). Not allowed with regular water-based heating – risk of freezing!
  • Install before the ventilation unit to the outside air duct
  • Winter benefit: Preheats freezing outdoor air, reducing electric heater use
  • Summer benefit: Pre-cools warm air from outside
  • Energy advantage: Uses free renewable energy stored in the ground. In winter, draws warmth from the earth. In summer, sends excess indoor heat back into the soil
  • Cooling works best with Airobot S1, S2, V4, V6, and V8 models, which are equipped with a 100% bypass damper for maximum pre-cooling efficiency. Other models are also supported but offer reduced cooling performance.
  • Requires sufficient buffer in ground loop

Supply air duct

  • Compatible with all heating and cooling sources
  • Install after the ventilation unit to the supply air duct
  • Winter benefit: Increases supply air temperature for higher comfort and efficiency
  • Summer benefit: Provides cooling directly before air reaches rooms
  • Best for: General heating systems or homes without ground-source cooling

Control

  • Control and setup are available through the Airobot mobile app. A network connection is required for the ventilation unit to enable this functionality.
  • In the summer, you can select the desired indoor temperature, and when it is reached, the cooling is automatically turned off. Minimum supply air temperature is auto-calculated to avoid condensation or can be manually set
  • In the winter, preheating is automatically started when outside air temperature drops below set temperature

Technical

  • Extension module (VC-EXT) is required which is connected to Airobot ventilation unit.
  • Filter cassette required before duct device when installed in outdoor duct (FD-160/200/250)
  • Additional temperature sensor required if installed in the supply air duct (A-ETHS-5M)
  • Valve control: 0 – 10 V recommended for precise temperature control.Compatible with 2-way / 3-way valves and ON/OFF control.
  • Duct device available sizes: 160 mm, 200 mm, 250 mm duct diameters
